The position in IT development and statistical analysis of experimental data is in support of the research activity in experimental economics at the GATE laboratory. The mission will focus on the programming of experimental protocols, the constitution of experimental datasets and the first statistical analysis of data, and assistance with the conduct of experiments in the GATE-LAB experimental platform. The engineer will work on experimental protocols aimed at testing the economic choices of individuals in stylized economic situations on the basis of computerized protocols, and on the experimental data thus collected. The experiments are implemented by means of dedicated softwares allowing to organize the exchange of information between the participants.
-Programming of experimental protocols
o Developing programs adapted to the experiments using softwares developed on the basis of specific frameworks (ZTree (Fischbacher 2007), OTree (Chen et al. 2016))
o Carrying out and conducting pilot tests to validate the experimental plans in collaboration with the researchers
-Collecting experimental data
o Contributing to the good functioning of the GATE-LAB experimental platform, from the maintenance of the database of subjects, the summoning of participants to the experiments, the scheduling of the experimental sessions
o Conducting the experimental sessions in GATE-LAB, online or in the field when needed
-Construction of the datasets and first statistical analysis
o Formatting the data generated during the experiments in a format suitable for post-processing (Excel, SQL)
o Processing the statistical analysis of the data generated during the experiments, using standard econometric software (Stata, R).
- Knowledge of programming techniques, so as to be quickly operational on Ztree and Otree; mastering a programming language would be an advantage.
