Job Description
Missions
This postdoctoral contract is part of the MolQIf quantum technologies PEPR project, which aims to explore the potential of paramagnetic complexes as solid-state quantum bits (qubits) for quantum information processing. In order to measure properties at the single-molecule scale, this project plans to disperse various paramagnetic complexes in inert porous matrices in a controlled manner at very high dilution. The postdoctoral researcher recruited will be responsible for developing different types of chemical grafting in these porous materials. He or she will develop sol-gel synthesis techniques for various materials and study their functionalization with the aim of achieving very high dilution while minimizing by-products. He or she will need to implement various techniques to best characterize the grafted functions. In particular, they will interact with the MolQIf consortium teams involved in the design and synthesis of the molecules to be grafted and in the characterization of materials by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR).

Your Work Environment
Institut Néel, UPR 2940 CNRS, is one of France's largest national research institutes for fundamental research in condensed matter physics, enriched by interdisciplinary activities at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering, and biology. The laboratory is affiliated with the CNRS Physics department. It is located in the heart of a unique scientific, industrial, and cultural environment. Within Institut Néel, the OPTIMA team develops activities in the field of materials chemistry, in particular their synthesis using Sol-Gel techniques. The technology centers provide access to advanced characterization techniques (TEM, SEM, PL, thermal analyses, etc.).
Institute Néel is a CNRS laboratory. The CNRS is a public scientific and technological institution. Its mission is to identify, carry out or commission, alone or with its partners, any research that is of interest for the advancement of science and for economic, social, and cultural progress. Internationally recognized for the excellence of its scientific work, the CNRS is a benchmark both in the world of research and development and for the general public.
Possible extension of the contract for an additional 12 months.
