The post-doc will work on the fabrication and characterization of high performance NdFeB micro-magnets. The work will be carried out in the framework of ANR project concerning the integration of high-performance micro-magnets into micro-systems.


The post-doc will work on the following principle tasks with 100% responsibility:
- clean room processing: lithography, Deep RIE, sputtering, chemical-mechanical-polishing
- structural characterization: profilometry, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction
- magnetic characterization: magnetometry, Scanning Hall Probe Microscopy, magneto-optical microscopy


The candidate must have a solid background in materials science and magnetism and experience in the fabrication and characterization of hard magnetic films. Clean-room micro-fabrication is strongly favoured.

Work Context

Institut Néel is a CNRS laboratory based in Grenoble which deals with both fundamental and applied aspects of condensed matter physics, with activities at the interface with engineering, chemistry and biology. It comprises around 450 persons, including 125 scientists and 50 professors / associate professors, 130 engineers, technicians and administrative supports and 125 non-permanent members (interns, PhD, post-doc). The post-doc will be part of the Micro and Nano-Magnetism group in the QUEST department.
