Implement biology techniques to study the regulatory role of RNase P to control tRNA homeostasis in plants. The multidisciplinary project consists more specifically in studying the regulation by RNase P of the mRNA of MAF1, a main regulator of RNA polymerase III, in the model plant Arabidopsis.


Choose, develop and adapt biological sample analysis protocols
Conduct experiments in molecular biology (PCR, cloning, in vitro transcription)
Conduct experiments with RNA (purification, RT-PCR, library preparations for high-throughput sequencing)
Conduct experiments in protein biochemistry (protein expression and purification, western blot, cleavage assays)
Write and update technical protocols, keep a laboratory notebook
Present the results of the analyses, guarantee their follow-up and quality
Present results during team meetings
Ensure the application of health and safety principles and rules


- Knowledge of molecular biology and/or biochemistry and genetics techniques
- English language, level B2
- Know how to analyze and communicate data
- Implement biology techniques
- Master basic computer and bioinformatics tools
- Have a good organizational sense and know how to work in a team
- Be rigorous, have the ability to work independently and take initiatives

Work Context

The research will be carried out in the team “Function of PPR proteins” at the IBMP. This CNRS Plant Molecular Biology Institute is an important center for research and teaching in plant biology.
The work will take place in the context of the ANR project “PROPHAN” dedicated to study the function of the RNase P enzymes “PRORP” to control tRNA homeostasis.
The CDD contract is for one year (possibility of renewal).
