Missions
We aim to develop a longitudinal coupling scheme between a qubit in a carbon nanotube and microwave photons, a promising approach for high-fidelity quantum operations and non-destructive quantum readout (QND). Unlike conventional transverse dipole-photon interactions, longitudinal coupling theoretically significantly reduces decoherence while offering precise qubit control, fast QND readout and efficient entanglement generation. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for designing and implementing a circuit architecture optimised for longitudinal coupling. The postdoctoral researcher's tasks will include Theoretical and experimental study of longitudinal coupling mechanisms in qubit-cavity systems. The fabrication and characterisation of devices for obtaining qubits with tunable qubit-photon coupling. Advanced microwave measurements to demonstrate and optimise longitudinal coupling, with particular emphasis on preserving quantum coherence and optimising readout schemes. This project is part of the development of new quantum architectures using carbon nanotubes as a platform for scalable, high-performance devices.
