Missions

The missions of the post-doc will be to measure, analyze and evaluate the spin-charge conversion or spin filtering efficiency by the CISS (Chiral Induced Spin selectivity) effect in the sub-femtosecond time domain by THz-TDS (time-domain spectroscopy) technique of two well-identified types of materials:
1) THz emission from chiral molecules (OIHP: organic inorganic hybrid perovskite)
2) 2D Van der Waals-type material stacks, including 2D ferromagnetic materials and semi-metallic Weyl-type materials or topological insulators.

Activités

The post-doctorant 's activities will be :
- to take part to set up a cryostat (cryo-cooler type) for the development of a low-temperature, high-magnetic-field (7T) THz-TDS experimental bench.
- to measure spin-charge conversion and spin filtering in the time domain using the THz-TDS technique: Application to chiral OHIP perovskite molecules and two-dimensional CrxTeY (ferromagnetic) and PtTe2 materials.
- to analyze THz-TDS experimental data (magnetic components and non-magnetic optical rectification signals).
- to present results at international conferences
- to present results in the form of scientific papers

Compétences

The post-doc will need to demonstrate competence and skills in the following areas:
- Ultrafast optics: THz-TDS
- Background in condensed matter physics and chiral properties of materials and interfaces: ferromagnetic materials, two-dimensional materials, Weyl semi-metals,
- spintronics/orbitronics
- UV lithography (possibly e-beam electron lithography)

Contexte de travail

The Post-doc will work on the THz-TDS experimental bench of the Albert Fert Laboratory, CNRS, Thales, on structures grown in-house or in collaboration with external partner laboratories.
