Job Description
Thesis Subject
The project aims to rigorously investigate, using state-of-the-art theoretical and computational methods, how quantum electromagnetic cavity fields and polaritonic effects can reshape phases of condensed matter systems and influence the many-body quantum dynamics involved in chemical reactions.
The candidate will carry out advanced analytical calculations based on quantum field theory, combined with cutting-edge numerical simulations, under the supervision of Prof. Cristiano Ciuti. The position involves contributing to scientific publications and presenting results at international conferences.
Your Work Environment
The laboratory Quantum Materials and Phenomena (MPQ) is a joint research unit (UMR 7162) of CNRS and the Université Paris Cité, located in the Condorcet building on the Paris Rive Gauche campus, facing the Seine. It comprises approximately 120 people. The laboratory specializes in the study of advanced quantum materials and the development of innovative quantum devices. The MPQ Theory team enjoys a strong international reputation and visibility, with a long list of alumni who have secured prestigious positions in academia or industry. For more details, see https://mpq.u-paris.fr/en/home/ and https://mpq.u-paris.fr/en/annuaire/ciuti-cristiano-en/.
