Description of the thesis topic

The candidate will work on a thesis topic related to the ERC AGATHA CRYPTY project. This project is about the algorithmic and mathematical aspects of cryptography based on Euclidean lattices and isogenies. The exact subject is to be determined in consultation with the selected person. It will focus on computational problems at the core of cryptography based on Euclidean lattices or isogenies, studying their difficulty, applications, and the underlying mathematical structures involved.

Work Context

The candidate will work within the number theory team of the Unit for Pure and Applied Mathematics (UMPA), at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. The candidate will benefit from the resources of the ERC AGATHA CRYPTY project, allowing them to travel to conferences or procure equipment, for example. This same project will host several other PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, providing the candidate with numerous opportunities for interaction and collaboration.
