This recruitment will strengthen the CNRS's role in the 'Water' pillar within the research conducted by the BIOEENVIS federation (FR 3728) and contribute more effectively to its coordination with the 'City' and 'Biodiversity' pillars, particularly by deploying its research within the Rhône River Basin Workshop Zone. It will also play a key role in the coordination of local, regional, and national projects funded by PEPR OneWater, FairCarbon, and Solubiod.
Stratégie du laboratoire d'accueil
He/she will work on the impact of climate change and anthropogenic actions on aquatic communities and the functioning of hydro-systems. The work may lead to the development of concepts and proposals for nature-based, sustainable, and innovative solutions concerning the management of hydro-systems and biodiversity. These issues may be addressed through in situ studies, experiments under controlled conditions, or by using modeling tools. He/she will strengthen collaborations between the different teams of LEHNA and will be able to rely on the PEPRs in which LEHNA is heavily involved at the national level as well as in the ZABR and the labex IMU and DRIIHM in order to establish a network of collaborations to address water crises. Participatory science approaches with local stakeholders may also be considered to address the complexity of issues related to socio-hydro-systems.
Stratégie Internationale
The holder of the chair will implement actions and partnerships in the thematic field and will commit to submitting a project within the framework of European calls (ERC, Horizon Europe Consortium, etc.) during the 5 years of their contract. To do this, he/she can rely on the partnership expertise and European contracts of the laboratory. He/she will be encouraged to develop and mobilize their international network to facilitate the arrival of invited researchers, particularly in collaboration with EUR H2O-Lyon.

Résumé du projet scientifique
Global change manifests itself through both more frequent and intense climatic events and direct and indirect anthropogenic pressures that have major effects on the functioning and dynamics of waterways. The aim will be to quantify the consequences of these global changes on the functioning of lotic ecosystems at relevant scales, from the stretch of a watercourse to the watershed, through monitoring, experimentation, and modeling approaches. Particular attention will be paid to quantifying the role of organism diversity in the biogeochemical functioning of stream and their associated habitats, as well as their resistance and resilience to environmental pressures. It will also be important to understand how global change affects aquatic communities and the associated functions and services in order to propose relevant ecological remediation measures.
Résumé du projet d'enseignement
The teaching project will be adapted to the associated universities. Ideally, it will include courses focused on the functioning of hydrosystems, functional ecology of lotic systems, and more specific courses on global changes and their consequences on aquatic ecosystems (e.g., Master's program in Ecology of the Anthropocene: urbanization, biodiversity, water, in the Master's Integrated Watershed Sciences at EUR H2O Lyon). It will be integrated into Master's programs at the first and second year levels.

Diffusion scientifique
The dissemination of the results will be done through world-class scientific productions: publications, patents, software... In addition, the results will be communicated to various targets such as scientific communities, media, decision makers, general public, schools, etc., with an adapted calendar. Specific tools may be developed such as websites, newsletters, meetings, international symposia, summer schools and conferences.
Science ouverte
The CNRS is developing a strong policy in favor of open science. Open science consists of making research results "as accessible as possible and closed as necessary". As such, the CNRS aims to make 100% of the texts of publications resulting from the work of its laboratories accessible , in particular through deposit in HAL. The data produced must also be made available and reusable, except for specific restrictions. In addition, the guiding principles of individual evaluation have been revised in accordance with the DORA declaration, to be more qualitative and to take into account all facets of the researcher's profession.
Science et société
The relationship between science and society is now recognized as a full dimension of scientific activity. The project will develop this dimension in synergy with all the partners. The resulting research work will contribute to informing public decision-making. Participatory science initiatives may be initiated with actors from the project’s socio-economic and cultural eco-system.
Indicateurs
The activity will be evaluated in particular on the basis of scientific production (publications, software, patents, etc.), on institutional and private partnerships formalized by contracts, on international presence, on the promotion of work to multidisciplinary scientific communities, on innovation and its transfer to society and on scientific dissemination to non-specialist audiences.
