The successful candidate will work within the “JLab-EIC” hadronic physics team of the “High Energy Physics” (PHE) pole of the Laboratoire de Physique des 2 Infinis Irène Joliot-Curie (IJCLab) under the supervision of Raphaël Dupré, scientific coordinator of the ALERT project.
ALERT stands for "a low energy recoil tracker", the detector was constructed in partnership between IJCLab, Argonne Natl. Lab., and Jefferson Lab. The CLAS collaboration experiment ran using the ALERT detector in 2025 and now data is being calibrated. The post-doctoral fellow will work on GEANT4 simulations, in particular to handle noise merging from real data and other features to make the simulation more realistic. Moreover, the postdoc will be encouraged to pursue analysis of a topic of their chosing in the ALERT group or to contribute to the development of new proposals.
On the EIC side, the successuful candidate will participate in the detector effort around the Roman pots. IJCLab is involved at various levels in the project, in design, cooling, and electronics testing. Moreover, the postdoc will developp simulations and analysis of a channel within the exclusive, tagged and diffractive working group of the ePIC collaboration.
Activity
The post-doctoral fellow will be in charge of
