Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the ANR REPiB project (Rationalizing Electrode Potentials in Rechargeable Batteries), whose overall objective is to establish an appropriate physicochemical model to quantitatively describe electrode potential as a function of electrolyte composition and concentration.
The postdoctoral researcher will perform molecular dynamics simulations based on machine-learning-type potentials for several families of electrolytes. By varying the cation, anion, and solvents, the goal will be to compute key descriptors of the electrolyte's solvation structure as well as its redox properties.
Activity
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to various aspects of the project, including:
• performing molecular dynamics simulations
• developing codes to analyze these simulations (based on tools available in the laboratory)
• collaborating with other project participants and with experimentalists
• writing publications and participating in conferences
Your Profil
Skills
Candidates must hold, at the start of the project, a PhD in physical chemistry or physics, and have research skills relevant to the project's theme and activities. Strong experience in molecular simulation and/or machine learning is required, along with a solid understanding of the associated theoretical tools (statistical physics of liquids, etc...; programming experience among Python, Fortran, C, C++, etc...). A good knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
Your Work Environment
The work will be carried out at the PHENIX laboratory (Physicochimie des Électrolytes et Nanosystèmes Interfaciaux), a joint research unit between CNRS and Sorbonne University. It is located on the Pierre and Marie Curie campus in central Paris. The laboratory comprises around 90–100 researchers, faculty members, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers, and conducts research in the fields of energy (electrochemical storage, recycling, etc.), health, and the environment.
The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Electrochemistry and Ionic Liquids team and will have access to the computational resources of both the laboratory and the university.
