Missions
The project is carried out in collaboration with the UCCS and the ARKEMA company (Lacq Research Group). It concerns the study of the liquid sulfurization of hydrotreating catalysts. The objective of this project is to study the impact of the sulfurizing agent in liquid phase on the activation and the performances of the CoMoP/Al2O3 type catalysts. To achieve this, a specific study concerns the monitoring of the sulfidation by time-resolved XAS spectroscopy on the ROCK line of the SOLEIL synchrotron.
Activities
- Handling of the in-situ pressurized liquid sulfurization frame
- Preparation of the catalyst
- Preparation of the sulfurization charges
- Development of the sulfurization experiment and integration on the ROCK light line
- Follow-up of the experiment
- Analysis of the results obtained at the K thresholds of Mo and Co
- Writing of the analysis report
Skills
The candidate will have acquired a solid experience in heterogeneous catalysis in the field of hydrotreating and will be able to master catalytic tests under continuous pressure.
Work Context
The Catalysis and Solid State Chemistry Unit (UMR 8181 CNRS) brings together about 115 researchers and research teachers, 40 technical and administrative support staff and an average of 80 PhD students and 20 post-doctoral researchers. The research activities are focused on energy, environmental protection and sustainable chemistry. The Unit is spread over several sites, at the University of Lille (Villeneuve-d'Ascq) and at the University of Artois (Lens). The candidate will work on the Villeneuve-d'Ascq site and part of the experiments (about 10 days) will be performed at the SOLEIL synchrotron.
The scientific activities of the Unit are deployed on three axes: heterogeneous catalysis, catalysis and molecular chemistry, solid state chemistry. Within the Heterogeneous Catalysis axis, the candidate will work under the responsibility of the UCCS researchers, Carole Lamonier, Pascal Blanchard and Christine Lancelot.
