Missions
You will be interested in i) the synthesis of lithium-active materials from precursors derived from end-of-life battery recycling. You will study the conditions for processing precursors to make them compatible with the synthesis, ii) the integration of synthesized materials into industrial-type cells, taking into account the logic of circular and territorial economy. You will also be responsible for keeping a scientific watch on different battery chemistries and their recycling potential. The researcher recruited will be responsible for the scientific and administrative follow-up (drafting of reports and deliverables) of the project, in close collaboration with the LRCS team and the project teams.
Activités
Activities will focus on :
-from a scientific point of view, i) to the fine physico-chemical characterization of the various precursors derived from recycling in order to integrate them into the synthesis of electrode materials. Various approaches will be investigated, including routes via solutions. ii) understanding the integration of recycled precursors for battery applications. The transition to 18650 cell scale will be studied.
-from an administrative point of view, towards the scientific coordination of the project, working in concert with the various group members involved in the project.
Compétences
The candidate will hold a PhD in materials science. Experience in chemical synthesis of inorganic materials and characterization of solids is required. Knowledge of X-ray diffraction characterization is desirable. Knowledge of electrochemical characterization and scanning electron microscopy would be a plus. As this project is being developed within the recycling theme and is part of a laboratory consortium, the candidate must be open to teamwork. He/she must be able to communicate results clearly and succinctly, and work independently.
Contexte de travail
These studies are being developed in the Hauts-de-France region around a consortium involving one industrial and a second academic partner. It focuses on the issue of battery recycling, with a view to setting up a pilot plant. The work will be carried out at the LRCS. The Laboratoire de Réactivité et de Chimie des Solides, located at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France, is a research unit associated with the CNRS. Its research focuses on materials for energy storage and conversion. The present contract will contribute to the development of the “recycling theme”.
