Job Description

Missions

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to uncover the dynamic molecular mechanisms operating at membrane contact sites (MCS), with a particular focus on interactions between the endoplasmic reticulum and intracellular organelles in host-pathogen interactions.
Our research aims to decipher how intracellular microorganisms reprogram host cell functions through membrane contact sites.

Activity

The project combine cutting-edge cell biology with quantitative, state-of-the-art imaging approaches. A central component of the project is the use of advanced fluorescence microscopy, including Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM) coupled with Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), to probe molecular interactions in living cells.

Your Profil

Skills

PhD in cell biology, biophysics, or a related field
Strong background in cell membrane biology and fluorescence imaging
Experience in quantitative image analysis
Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment
Excellent communication skills (in English or French) and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Your Work Environment

The successful applicant will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research group at the Institut de Chimie Physique (ICP), Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay, France. The CPSysBio group at ICP offers a stimulating environment at the interface of physical chemistry, cell biology, and biochemistry with access to imaging platforms (https://www.icp.universite-paris-saclay.fr/cpsysbio/).
The project involves close collaboration with the team of Cyrille Botte (Institute for Advanced Biosciences, Grenoble), providing additional expertise in host–pathogen interactions.
Located just 5 minutes from Orsay station (RER B) and ~40 minutes from central Paris, the institute benefits from a rich scientific ecosystem in a green, well-connected campus.
