Missions

The person recruited will be part of the “Regulation of actin assembly dynamics” team at the Institut Jacques Monod. She/He will carry out biochemical/biophysical experiments to study actin filament assembly, using experimental approaches combining microfluidics and fluorescence microscopy.

Activités

- Produce and purify proteins of interest for experiments;
- Get a first characterization of the activity of the purified proteins;
- Write reports and technical notes on protein production and purification;

Compétences

- at least a BTS or License degree in Biology or Biochemistry;
- General knowledge in protein biochemistry;
- Minimal knowledge in molecular biology required:
- Good experimental practices;
- Fluency in English (B1 level required);
- Rigor, organization, autonomy in planning and managing experiments, analytical and scientific reasoning skills, dynamism, good interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team.

Contexte de travail

The Institut Jacques Monod (IJM) (https://www.ijm.fr/), a CNRS/Université Paris Cité joint research unit, brings together around 300 people and is one of the leading centers for fundamental biology research in Paris. The host team (www.actindynamics.net) focuses its research efforts on deciphering the dynamics of the cytoskeleton (actin and intermediate filaments). The IJM is located on the Université Paris Cité campus in the Paris-Rive Gauche business park (13th arrondissement of Paris; accessible by all means of transport: Metro 14, RER C, Tramway T3, buses 62 and 89).

The contract is a 9-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension depending on the assignment. A Master degree in Biology or Physics is required.
