Missions
The missions concern the synthesis, chemical functionalization and characterization of multifunctional magnetic colloids to feed and ensure the efficient running of several projects of the host team (Magnetorheology and Nanomaterials).
Activités
- In the framework of the project funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC), the aim is to synthesize electrochemically inert iron oxide colloids as well as magnetic microemulsions and to conduct aggregation tests under magnetic field and preliminary electrochemical tests in feedback with the optimization of synthesis/functionalization parameters.
- As part of the project funded by CNRS Innovation, the aim is to synthesize biocompatible multicore magnetic nanoparticles, as well as magnetic vesicles with encapsulated active ingredient in order to form magnetic microswimmers; It will also be necessary to conduct self-assembly experiments of synthesized colloids and possibly tests of the release of the active ingredient in feedback with the optimization of the synthesis/functionalization parameters.
- The recruited person will also be required to develop biocompatible magnetic colloids for the projects of two doctoral theses in physics on magnetic microswimmers and thrombolysis.
Compétences
- Chemistry of synthesis and surface chemistry in general and good mastery of synthesis and functionalization of magnetic colloids in particular;
- Good knowledge of physical chemistry and colloidal chemistry;
- Good basics of physical experiments in general and manipulation of magnetic colloids under magnetic field in particular;
- Good mastery of physico-chemical characterization methods (DLS, BET, ICP, TGA, FTIR, NMR, etc.);
- Mastery of magnetic characterization (VSM) and know-how in cleanroom photolithography are desirable.
Contexte de travail
The research engineer recruitment project is associated to several projects of the host team in relation to fundamental studies and technical or biomedical applications of multifunctional magnetic colloids. The recruited person will benefit from access to the experimental resources of the host team (chemistry rooms, reagents, equipment – ICP, BET, DLS, etc.), the laboratory's common chemistry lab, the "soft matter" platform and, if necessary, the laboratory's clean room, as well as to the more advanced characterization resources available on the university platforms (TEM, SEM, TGA, NMR, …).
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
The project is associated with the handling of chemicals commonly used in standard chemical manipulations (mainly iron salts, nitric acid, ammonia, polyethylene glycols, various solvents). Upon arrival at the laboratory, the person will follow the mandatory safety training and the SDS sheets will be provided for all the products to be used.
