Missions

The main objective of the postdoctoral trainee's work will be to synthesize and characterize new π-conjugated molecules for the development of molecular junctions.

Activités

Responsible for the following main tasks:
- synthesize functionalized π-conjugated molecules
- characterize their physicochemical properties
- make regular updates on the progress of the project
- write activity reports
- interact with the project partners (IEMN Lille)

Compétences

The candidate is holding a doctorate in organic chemistry and will have an experience in the synthesis and characterization of π-conjugated systems (absorption and emission spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry)
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the work, the candidate will be required to work in collaboration with physicists
A very good ability to communicate scientific results in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
Ability to team working and be autonomous are required skills.

Contexte de travail

This work will be developed at MOLTECH-Anjou at the University of Angers (France) in the frame of the EVOLMONET (Evolving electronic transport in molecules/nanoparticles networks) project. The latter is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) and will be carried out in strong interactions with our partner at IEMN (Institut d'Électronique, de Microélectronique et de Nanotechnologie) in Lille (France).
The work carried out at MOLTECH-Anjou is funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR).
The MOLTECH-Anjou laboratory is a Joint Research Unit of the CNRS and the University of Angers (UMR 6200) located at the Faculty of Sciences, 2 Bd Lavoisier 49045 ANGERS Cedex, France. It brings together the skills of 85 people, including around fifty CNRS researchers, Professors and Associate Professors, engineers and technical staff, and around thirty doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers.
The scientific activity of the MOLTECH-Anjou laboratory is centered on the development of organic molecular materials or organic-inorganic hybrids, in support of high-visibility axes such as organic electronics, stimulable materials, material nano-structuration or even materials for energy. Five research teams pool their expertise (theoretical chemistry and modeling, organic and inorganic syntheses, coordination chemistry, supramolecular, physical and analytical chemistry, elaboration of materials) and in photonics. Four teams belong to the National Institute of Chemistry of the CNRS, the fifth coming from the National Institute of Physics of the CNRS.
