Missions
The post-doctoral project will focus on hybrid quantum circuits. Based on quantum circuit techniques, in particular low mode volume, high quality factor superconducting resonators and quantum limit amplifiers, it is possible to detect microwave signals emitted by spins contained in femtoLiter samples. The aim of the project will be to further develop this high-sensitivity platform, possibly adapting it to near-field scanning imaging. A second objective will be to measure molecular magnet systems in order to assess their potential for quantum memories.
Activités
Simulation, fabrication, implementation and optimization of superconducting microwave resonators for the detection of electron spins, in particular in the context of a scanning probe in a clean field. Evaluation of the potential of molecular ions for quantum memories.
Compétences
Desired skills:
- Expertise in nanofabrication
- Expertise in microwave measurements
- Expertise in low-temperature experimental physics - Expertise in programming languages (Python)
- Expertise in computer-assisted instrumentation and experimental data acquisition
Organizational skills: student supervision, meeting facilitation, scientific watch.
Compliance with safety and security regulations.
Contexte de travail
The applicant will work in the Quantum Circuits group of the Physics Laboratory at ENS Lyon (http://physinfo.fr), which is an expert in quantum circuit technologies for quantum sensing and quantum information processing. The candidate will have access to the group's experimental (cryogenics, microwave measurements and nanofabrication) and numerical resources.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
