Job Description
Missions
Within the framework of an ANR-funded project, the postdoctoral researcher will investigate the genomic evolution of intracellular bacteria (genus Rickettsia) associated with ticks.
Activity
The postdoctoral researcher will use a range of complementary bioinformatics approaches for comparative genomics and phylogenomics analyses.
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate should hold a PhD in evolutionary biology or a related field and have solid experience in microbial genomics, evolutionary biology, phylogenetics, and bioinformatics. Good scientific communication skills are required, including a good command of English for scientific writing and interactions with international collaborators. The candidate should also demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Your Work Environment
The position is part of an ANR-funded project within the MIVEGEC research unit in Montpellier, a joint research unit of CNRS, IRD, and the University of Montpellier specializing in the study of infectious diseases and their vectors, at the interface of ecology, evolution, genetics, and health. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with members of the research team and with the collaborators involved in the project.
Constraints and risks
The work will be carried out entirely on a computer and will not involve any handling of chemicals, biological samples, or living organisms.
