Missions
The Engineer (M/F) in Chemical Sciences will contribute to research projects on the catalytic removal of nitrogen oxides, which are harmful pollutants to human health and the environment. These projects aim to remove nitrogen oxides present in emissions from internal combustion engines using hydrogen as fuel, as well as in incinerator fumes.
Activités
- Conduct the modification of an experimental setup for the diagnostic the of incinerator depollution catalysts.
- Conduct experiments to measure the performance of catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides.
- Synthesize and physico-chemically characterize catalysts.
- Extract raw results, analyze them, and present them.
- Write the laboratory notebook and analysis reports.
- Ensure the proper functioning and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Apply safety rules.
Compétences
- General knowledge in chemistry
- Knowledge of materials and heterogeneous catalysis
- Knowledge of analytical techniques (gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy)
- Knowledge of mathematical and computer tools necessary for data analysis
Contexte de travail
IRCELYON is a joint research unit of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. This laboratory, located in Villeurbanne, France, is the largest dedicated to heterogeneous catalysis. The Engineer will be integrated into the CARE (Catalytic and Atmospheric Reactivity for the Environment) research team, which focuses on environmental chemistry.
