Missions
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher with a background in soft matter or theoretical biophysics to join our team (https://institut-curie.org/team/sens). The proposed theoretical research aims to explore how the interaction between active stresses, topological defects, and geometry influences the shaping of fluid surfaces. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in understanding surface dynamics driven by assemblies of interacting topological defects, utilizing both analytical and numerical approaches.
Activités
- Develop and implement advanced continuum models for active fluid surfaces to analyze the dynamic feedback between topological defects and out-of-plane shape deformations.
- Develop computational methods to integrate the dynamics of interacting topological defects on fluid surfaces.
- Work with experimental collaborators at Institut Curie to integrate theoretical models with experimental data, providing insights and predictions for further experimental validation.
Compétences
- Ph.D. in Physics, Biophysics, or a related field.
- Strong theoretical background, particularly in nonlinear physics and free-boundary problems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python or similar for modeling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with experimental group.
- A proven track record of research excellence, demonstrated through publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals, is a plus
Contexte de travail
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment at the Institut Curie, which encourages interdisciplinary interactions at the interface between physics and biology. The group has access to state-of-the-art facilities for both experimental and theoretical research in biophysics.
