Description du sujet de thèse

The objective of this PhD project is to develop experiments aimed at advancing our understanding of enzyme behavior during the formation of thin liquid films, either deposited on solid surfaces or surrounded by gas. The PhD candidate will develop methods to characterize the dynamics and stability of these films, as well as the spatial organization of enzymes within them. Particular attention will be paid to the impact of the confinement imposed by the film on enzymatic activity. These studies will be complemented by investigations of free interfaces in the presence of the same enzymes. This PhD work is part of a broader interdisciplinary project at the interface between soft matter physics and biochemistry.

Contexte de travail

This position is part of a large interdisciplinary research project at the interface of soft matter physics, physical chemistry, and biochemistry, involving several partners based in Strasbourg, Paris, and Le Mans.
The PhD candidate will be based at the Institut Charles Sadron (ICS) in Strasbourg, within the MIM team (Mechanics of Interfaces and Multiphase Systems), and will work in close interaction with other research teams (PECMAT, M3, TSP) as well as with technical platforms (InCa, Plamics, Carmac).
Frequent exchanges with partner laboratories are planned throughout the project. He/she will also collaborate closely with the Institut de Physique de Nice.
This position falls within a sector subject to the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST). In accordance with current regulations, the appointment is subject to prior authorization by the competent authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).

Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
