Description du sujet de thèse
The PhD project is part of an ANR-funded program. Its aim is to explore the use of small chemical molecules to induce read-through of premature stop codons that cause genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis. The successful candidate will use the bioinformatics tools developed within the team to analyze ribosome-profiling and RNA-seq data, while also conducting scientific and technological monitoring to test and integrate relevant new methods, with a strong emphasis on reproducibility in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). He/She will also develop new tools to predict consequences of read-through events at natural stop codons in genes and to integrate sequence data with experimental or predicted 3D structure data.
Contexte de travail
The PhD will take place at the I2BC. The institute is located in Gif-sur-Yvette on the CNRS campus, close to Paris-Saclay University. The thesis will be co-supervised by Olivier Namy and Jessica Andreani, positioning the work at the interface of two teams. This arrangement will foster strong integration of both translational-regulation research and bioinformatics.
