Job Description

Thesis Subject

This thesis project aims to better understand the behavioral, neurobiological, and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of vulnerability to anxiety and depressive disorders. Through an original longitudinal approach in mice, the doctoral student will investigate the impact of early-life and adolescent social stress on individual trajectories of vulnerability or resilience. The project will combine innovative technologies for automated behavioral monitoring, neurobiological and molecular analyses, as well as advanced data analysis and machine learning approaches. The goal is to gain deeper insights into the mechanisms that progressively lead from health to pathology, in order to identify at-risk individuals early and develop personalized prevention strategies for psychiatric disorders.

Your Work Environment

The NeuroPSI (Paris-Saclay Institute of Neuroscience) building is located on the CEA Saclay site, adjacent to the NeuroSpin brain imaging institute. Behavioral experiments will be conducted at Neuro-PSI. Neuro-PSI comprises 24 research teams, as well as technical platforms and services that enable the study of brain function across multiple animal models at all levels. The doctoral student will work within the Neurobiology of Decision-Making team, led by Sylvie Granon. The team consists of two permanent faculty researchers, one CNRS junior researcher (CPJ), one PhD student, and several Master 2 students.
