Job Description
Thesis Subject
DNA Polymerase ζ-Dependent Mechanisms of Replication Adaptation to Repetitive Sequences
Responsibilities
Conduct experiments to characterize the role of the REV3L protein and the REV3L cleavage mutant in telomere stability, using approaches combining molecular biology, cell biology, and imaging.
Perform ChIP-seq and CUT&Tag experiments to identify the genomic regions bound by the REV3L protein and its mutants. Analyze the data generated using bioinformatics approaches.
Write scientific reports and research articles to disseminate knowledge.
Give presentations in English to present research findings within the unit and at scientific conferences.
Qualifications and Skills
Master's degree in Biology or a related field.
General knowledge of DNA replication in eukaryotes; knowledge of the mechanisms governing genome stability would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of molecular biology; knowledge of genomics would be an advantage.
Proficiency in good laboratory practices.
Good command of written and spoken English (B2 level required).
Rigor and attention to detail, organizational skills, autonomy and ability to take initiative, strong analytical and synthesis skills, dynamism, team spirit, and a collaborative and supportive attitude.
Your Work Environment
The UMR 9019, Genome Integrity and Cancer, is located at the Gustave Roussy Institute, near of Paris and accessible via Metro Line 14. The Gustave Roussy Institute is recognized as one of the leading European centers for cancer research and care.
The unit comprises approximately 80 people, including 33 permanent staff members (researchers, academic researchers, technical and administrative staff, and clinicians), divided into seven research teams. The main focus of the unit is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern genome stability.
