Utilization of the advanced Ground-Based Aerosol Observations for supporting the development and validation of enhanced approaches of aerosol retrievals from satellite observations.

Contexte de travail

The PhD will take place at the Laboratoire d'Optique Atmosphérique (LOA) – a joint research unit of CNRS and the University of Lille. LOA is a key player in atmospheric observation, particularly in the study of aerosols. It is actively involved in the AERONET (NASA) and ACTRIS networks, the Copernicus program, and in methodological developments (GRASP, SYNERGY, multi-sensor inversion).
The PhD student will benefit from scientific supervision by experts in atmospheric optics, as well as from a dynamic research environment within a team engaged in several European projects.
This position falls under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore, in accordance with regulations, your appointment must be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.

Contraintes et risques

The activity may involve occasional travel within France or abroad (project meetings, field campaigns on board). Some trips may require irregular working hours or field conditions (e.g., at sea, instrument calibration).
