Description of the thesis topic
THE UNEQUAL MITOTIC SEGREGATION OF MITOCHONDRIA AS AN ASYMMETRICAL DETERMINANT OF CELL FATE DURING NEUROGENESIS
Conducting experiments (molecular biology, chicken embryo manipulation, histology, imaging), summarising and presenting results, discussion/analysis with direct supervisor, bibliographic review on the subject of study
Work Context
Recruitment is taking place as part of a project aimed at elucidating the link between cell division, mitochondrial dynamics and the progression of neurogenesis. The aim is therefore to produce, validate and use molecular tools to document the dynamics of different mitochondrial populations during neural progenitor cell division in chicken embryos, as well as reporters of the metabolic status of these progenitors over time, in relation to the fate of the daughter cells born from the division of these progenitors.
Constraints and risks
Use of chemicals (fixatives, Sybersafe), use of confocal microscopes (exposure to lasers)
