Description du sujet de thèse
We propose a PhD project within our laboratory, focused on the experimental study of non-Hermitian and nonlinear dynamics of integrated semiconductor nanolaser diode arrays. This project aims to explore collective phenomena in networks of active optical nanocavities integrated into a silicon photonic circuit.
Project Objectives:
- Develop a platform to demonstrate collective nonlinear dynamics, such as self-pulsing, at frequencies exceeding 10 GHz.
- Explore new functionalities for optical computing methods in integrated photonic circuits.
- Model and characterize modal properties to identify optimal configurations for non-Hermitian and nonlinear dynamics.
- Experimentally study collective emission and synchronization, and develop control strategies for emission properties.
- Explore neuromorphic behaviors by leveraging nonlinear dynamics for computing tasks.
Training and Collaborations:
The selected candidate will be trained in experimental photonics, nonlinear optics, and simulation methods, gaining expertise in nanofabrication techniques. The project includes collaborations with industrial partners such as Thales Research and Technology and the startup NcodiN, to explore practical applications in neuromorphic photonic computing.
