Description du sujet de thèse

The PhD will take place within the framework of the EAGPLAN project, led by Orange Labs, whose objective is to design and implement efficient algorithms for computing optimal solutions in order to recommend the best actions a telecommunication operator can undertake for multi-period network planning in a competitive environment, taking into account the actions of other operators. The project builds upon previous research that addressed this problem through the lens of extensive-form games. These studies highlighted the effectiveness of combining tools from graph theory, mathematical programming, and dynamic programming to compute pure Nash equilibria in extensive-form games. The PhD will aim to study the impact of uncertainty on the utility function on both the computational complexity and the algorithms available to find the Nash equilibria of the resulting games.

Contexte de travail

The PhD will take place at the Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics of Montpellier (LIRMM), a Joint Research Unit jointly operated by the University of Montpellier and the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). LIRMM's research activities place it at the very heart of the information, communication, and systems sciences and technologies. Its work is carried out within three scientific research departments, themselves organized into teams. The PhD will take place more specifically within the MAORE team, whose members use tools from combinatorial optimization, graph theory, mathematical programming, and constraint programming to solve discrete optimization problems, either exactly or approximately.

Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
