Description du sujet de thèse
Conducting animal behavior experiments aimed at understanding the role of cortical motor projections to the spinal cord in motor planning
Activities:
1) Stereotaxis and surgery for implantation (cranial window, silicone probe, neuropixel) and viral infection.
2) Handling, habituation and daily monitoring of experimental animals, in compliance with ethical regulations.
3) Setting up lesion, optogenetic, calcium imaging and electrophysiology experiments on awake animals.
4) Strict monitoring of limit points and killing of animals if necessary.
5) Daily monitoring of data collection and backup by all necessary means (laboratory notebook, external hard disk, server).
6) Analysis and mathematical modeling of data and formatting of figures.
7) Monitoring and maintenance of team equipment.
8) Training and supervision of thesis and master's students as required.
Contexte de travail
Established in 2011, IINS brings together 180 scientists from different nationalities and backgrounds (chemistry, structural biology, molecular and cell biology, biophysics, clinical medicine, advanced imaging, neurobiology) to understand how the brain functions in healthy and pathological states. IINS conducts multidisciplinary research at the cutting edge of synapse biology and neural systems physiology, with a particular focus on the development of new technologies and tools.
