Description du sujet de thèse
Eco-design of Recycled Binders and Materials for Li-ion Batteries. The project aims to develop high-performance Li-ion batteries by integrating recycled materials for negative electrodes from various industrial sectors, such as photovoltaics, microelectronics, and the paper industry. This approach reduces the ecological footprint and decreases dependence on virgin resources. A thorough study of recycled components will be carried out, compared to commercial equivalents. From these materials, Li-ion battery electrodes will be prepared and electrochemically tested. Reaction mechanisms will be investigated by combining characterization techniques such as DRX, Raman, IR, XAS, ex situ or in operando mode. Performance will be compared to the state of the art.
Contexte de travail
This PhD will be conducted at the ICGM, as part of the PhD Joint Program between the University of Sherbrooke and the CNRS. Video meetings will be held regularly with the LN2 (UdS) team, and trips to Sherbrooke will be scheduled once a year.
A life cycle analysis study, conducted as part of another Mines d'Alès/U Sherbrooke thesis, will estimate and compare the environmental and economic performance of the batteries developed compared to conventional technologies in France and Quebec, while integrating criticality and geopolitical factors.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
