Job Description

Thesis Subject

The project aims to discover new thermoelectric materials using data science and machine learning methods applied to materials, based on expert-reviewed experimental data from the literature and public databases (notably Starrydata2). The work will include the implementation of machine learning models (neural networks, random forests, SISSO), generative approaches for predicting crystal structures, the use of machine learning-based interatomic potentials, and active learning strategies for identifying materials with high thermoelectric efficiency (ZT figure of merit).

Your Work Environment

International joint supervision thesis: the doctoral student will spend 18 months in Montpellier (supervisor: Prof. Philippe Jund) and 18 months in Louvain-la-Neuve (supervisor: Prof. Gian-Marco Rignanese).
