Description du sujet de thèse
The presence of large quantities of magnesium coupled with the presence of metallic clusters in the LPSOs will make it possible to achieve very high mass storage capacities (>5% by mass). In addition to its lightness, magnesium has the advantage of being an abundant and very inexpensive metal. LPSOs have the advantage of being extremely flexible in terms of composition and structure.
We have recently been studying LPSO phases which have compositions close to intermetallic compounds rich in magnesium discovered in the last 5 years at the ICMCB. The first hydrogen storage tests by solid-gas reaction show interesting properties but with a complex activation. It is also necessary to underline the extreme difficulty in obtaining its pure LPSO compounds.
The objectives of this thesis would therefore be
(i) to optimize the conditions of synthesis and to explore new ways in order to obtain pure compounds (and to make a fine structural characterization)
(ii) to better understand the phenomena occurring during the activation of these materials in order to reduce the temperature and the pressure of first absorption
(iii) to study the solid-gas sorption properties of these compounds
(iv) to play on the compositions of LPSOs and LPSO composites in order to optimize the sorption properties
Contexte de travail
Created in 1995, the Bordeaux Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry (ICMCB) focuses its research on Solid State Chemistry, Materials Science and Molecular Sciences: designing, preparing, shaping and characterizing materials in order to discover, control and optimize specific functions. The ICMCB carries out fundamental research on model materials and/or materials with potential applications.
The ICMCB is a UMR with an average of 270 agents (permanent and non-permanent), with 3 tutelles, hosted by the CNRS and in total ZRR. The position is located in a sector covered by the Protection of Scientific and Technical Potential (PSTP), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that the arrival of the agent be authorized by the competent authority of MESR.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
