Job Description

Thesis Subject

Total Synthesis of Active ingredient by Ecocatalysis of palladium.
One of the main objectives of this thesis is to develop new solutions to prevent the predicted drug shortage, using palladium ecocatalysis for a sustainable pharmaceutical industry.

Your Work Environment

As part of the RI2 Eco-Palladium project, the Bio-Inspired Chemestry and ecological Innovations laboratory (ChimEco UMR5021 CNRS-University Of Montpellier) is recruiting a full-time doctoral student in organic and sustainable chemestry specializing in ecocatalysis.

Missions: The recruited individual will be responsible for studying the reactivity of new ecocatalysts in the organic synthesis of complex molecules, building upon the knowledge gained from ChimEco. Activities: - Preparation of ecocatalysts

Activities
- Preparation of ecocatalysts
- Physicochemical analysis and characterization of ecocatalysts
- Research and optimization of reaction conditions for ecocatalyzed reactions
- Total synthesis
- Analysis and interpretation of chemical results
- Writing of results and scientific reports

Constraints and risks

Occupational risks inherent in research work in the field of synthetic chemistry.

Requirements and Skills:
- Strong background in organic chemistry, particularly in sustainable chemistry and ecocatalysis
- Proficiency in MP-AES, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, and FT-IR techniques
- Proficiency in scientific bibliographic databases - Willingness to actively contribute to the unit's work and objectives
- Enjoyment of teamwork, collaborative projects, and interdisciplinary, public and private sector environments
- Familiarity with confidentiality procedures
- Adherence to health and safety regulations
