Description du sujet de thèse
Within the context of the PEPR Cell-ID programme, we are looking for a cell biologist with experience and/or interest in data analysis to study the role of histone variants H3 and developmental programs in pediatric brain cancers
The PhD student will address:
(i) Why is histone H3.3 encoded by two distinct genes (H3f3a and H3f3b)?
(ii) What are the unique protein functions of histone H3.3 and its unique S31-dependent PTM cross-talk with nearby residues during development?
(iii) What are the unique functions of the distinct onco-histones H3.3?
Contexte de travail
The PhD student will be co-supervised by Genevieve Almouzni (Institut Curie) and Laura Cantini (Institut Pasteur). They will share their time between both institutions
Cell-ID is steered by CNRS, in association with key partner institutions in France. It is rooted in a broad international context. The project involves more than 30 laboratories and several technology platforms across the country. The budget is 50 million euros.
The scientific project is multidisciplinary (3 work-packages) and aims to characterize, in normal and pathological conditions, genome function and its three-dimensional organization in the context of the nucleus at molecular and cellular levels in neural tissue lineages. Cell-ID also includes an educational component (1 work-package) (interdisciplinary training program for students) and communication with the public and patients.
Note: CNRS–EPST establishment, co-pilot INSERM – EPS; Partners: Institut Curie, Institut Pasteur, PSL University, Montpellier University, Paul Sabatier Toulouse University, Paris University, Strasbourg University, CEA
