Stratégie d'établissement

This profile was built by identifying five French laboratories whose research would be strengthened by the recruitment of a high-qualified researcher on the theme of fluvial hydrosystems based on a geographical approach in which the French school is particularly innovative and at the best international level. The INEE-CNRS wishes to strengthen recent and interdisciplinary developments in this scientific theme which is in line with two scientific priorities of the CNRS: possible territorial futures and climate change.

Stratégie du laboratoire d'accueil

The recruitment of a high-qualified researcher responds to the recent need, formulated jointly by five French laboratories, to strengthen the fields of expertise in the study of fluvial hydrosystems: EVS (UMR5600, Saint-Etienne), LEHNA (UMR5023, Lyon), LGP (UMR8591, Thiais), LIVE (UMR7362, Strasbourg), GEOLAB (UMR6042, Clermont-Ferrand).

Stratégie Internationale

The selected candidate of the CNRS tenure-track position will have to implement international actions and partnerships in the thematic field and commit to submitting a project in the framework of European calls for proposals (ERC, Horizon Europe Consortium, etc.) during the 4-year contract.

Résumé du projet scientifique

The multiple environmental issues associated with fluvial hydrosystems (water resources, risks and impacts of floods and low water levels, water quality, alteration of biodiversity, ecosystem services, good ecological functioning of hydraulic annexes and river landscapes) require to reinforce the fields of expertise in observation/instrumentation, characterisation, analysis and prediction of the functioning of fluvial hydrosystems. The scientific challenges concern the understanding of the impact of anthropic actions (dykes, dams, extractions, modification of land use, etc.) and the ongoing global change on the functioning of fluvial hydrosystems as a prelude to proposing actions for the sustainable restoration of river beds. The effects of high- and low-frequency hydrological events on the geometry and mobility of river beds in the medium- and long-term are a determining factor in understanding river readjustments to climate change. The research will benefit from the progress made in instrumentation and technologies associated with the study of fluvial morphodynamics (topographic and bathymetric LiDAR, historical photogrammetry and UAV, hydrophones, satellite resources, etc.).

Résumé du projet d'enseignement

The teaching project will be discussed according to the laboratory where the selected candidate will be recruited. He/she will be involved in existing academic programs.

Environnement Financier

  • Total financé (dont package ANR) : 200 k€
  • Total du projet : 200 k€

Diffusion scientifique

The dissemination of the results will be done through world-class scientific productions: publications, patents, software... In addition, the results will be communicated to various targets such as scientific communities, media, decision makers, general public, schools, etc., with an adapted calendar. Specific tools may be developed such as websites, newsletters, meetings, international symposia, summer schools and conferences.

Science ouverte

The CNRS is developing a strong policy in favor of open science. Open science consists of making research results "as accessible as possible and closed as necessary". As such, the CNRS aims to make 100% of the texts of publications resulting from the work of its laboratories accessible, in particular through deposit in HAL. The data produced must also be made available and reusable, except for specific restrictions. In addition, the guiding principles of individual evaluation have been revised in accordance with the DORA declaration, to be more qualitative and to take into account all facets of the researcher's profession.

Science et société

The relationship between science and society is now recognized as a full dimension of scientific activity. The project will develop this dimension in synergy with all the partners. The resulting research work will contribute to informing public decision-making. Participatory science initiatives may be initiated with actors from the project’s socio-economic and cultural eco-system.

Indicateurs

The activity will be evaluated in particular on the basis of scientific production (publications, software, patents, etc.), on institutional and private partnerships formalized by contracts, on international presence, on the promotion of work to multidisciplinary scientific communities, on innovation and its transfer to society and on scientific dissemination to non-specialist audiences.
