Missions
QBIOL is a cutting-edge stochastic simulation platform bridging quantum physics, mathematics, electrochemistry and biology (https://qbiol.org). Born from collaborative research between Toulouse and Tokyo, we are now in the frame of CNRS prematuration project, where we are transforming academic innovation into a startup. We need a core software engineer to shape our technical foundation and join the adventure.
Activities
-Interface & GUI: Build intuitive, powerful interfaces for complex simulation workflows
-System Integration: Bridge frontend and backend components with robust, scalable solutions
-Backend Development: Optimize core simulation engine (based on your expertise)
-Distributed Computing: Architect and deploy high-performance load dispatch systems across server clusters
Skills
Essential:
- Expert programming skills in Python, familiarity with GPU libraries (numba.cuda or equivalent)
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field
- Intellectual curiosity about the physics underlying the simulations
Valued:
- GUI/UX development experience
- Parallel computing \& distributed systems knowledge
- Scientific computing or computational biology background
- Understanding of stochastic processes and applied mathematics
Work Context
The successful candidate will be working at the intersection of quantum physics, mathematics, and biology in a collaborative, international research environment. It is an opportunity to join a small team in the startup development of a research project.
