Missions

As part of the ICE-OEH project (Embedded Coded Imager for Hyperspectral Environmental Observation), the PHOTO and RIS research teams at LAAS [PHOTO & RIS], in collaboration with the SISU team at IRAP [SIS], are developing a new coded hyperspectral imager for embedded hyperspectral imaging applications. Within this framework, this student's goal will be to develop the embedded computing system that will ensure the synchronization, acquisition, and storage of data from various sensors (cameras, GPS, inertial measurement unit, etc.), as well as their distribution via Wi-Fi.

Skills

— A degree in computer science or electronics.
— Solid knowledge of the constraints of electronics and embedded computing.
— Expertise in instrumentation.
— Good oral and written communication skills (French and English) are required to present work during project meetings, conferences, and write articles in scientific journals.
— Highly motivated to be involved in the project, curious, and autonomous, able to adapt to research constraints and develop skills in photonics.
— Ability to work in a team.

Work Context

This fixed-term contract focuses on the development of a new coded hyperspectral imager for embedded hyperspectral imaging applications within the Photonics and RIS teams at LAAS-CNRS (Toulouse). It will take place within the framework of the ICE-OEH project, in close collaboration with the SISU team at IRAP.

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.

Constraints and risks

As the work takes place partly within the optical characterization platform, the candidate will receive laser safety training.
