Missions
At the CNRS, on the Futuroscope site, the Pprime institute is recruiting a researcher to work on of constant or modulated circulation around moving airfoils. The project aims at defining and optimizing blade kinematics in order to provide unsteady propulsive and lifting forces, or harvest flow energy.
The postdoctoral researcher will have to conduct the optimization with constraints applied to the circulation value and dynamic stall phenomenon. A specific study on dynamic stall manipulation will also be conducted. Theoretical and numerical approaches will be carried out in order to develop the corresponding experimental demonstrators
Activities
The candidate will be required to carry out the following activities:
-Development of analytical and theoretical models applied to wing profiles in free or forced motion,
-Constrained optimisation of trajectories,
-Definition and realization of experimental campaigns.
Skills
The candidate must possess the following skills:
-Theoretical, computational and experimental fluid mechanics,
-Applied Mathematics.
Work Context
The activities of the Pprime Institute cover a wide range of topics: physics and mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering and energy. Synergies between these different disciplines are encouraged in order to provide an appropriate response to the needs of the socio-economic sector, with particular attention to environmental aspects.
The HydEE team focuses on hydraulic and hydrodynamic aspects, optimisation of fish passage systems, sediment transport and rheology of cohesive sediments. Experiments in an experimental hall (500 m²), grouped in the Environmental Hydrodynamics Platform and the Industrial Systems and Products Platform, coupled with a numerical modelling approach, enable research to meet operational needs.
The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
Additional Information
Le Doctorant sera basé à l'Institut Pprime dans l'établissement de l'Isae-ENSMA à Chasseneuil du Poitou (www.pprime.fr).
