Missions
We have a position opened for a post-doctoral researcher (M/F) to carry out research into the role of extracellular vesicles in the propagation of toxic proteins in Alzheimer's disease and Dementia with Lewy bodies.
Activités
-- Purification and characterization of extracellular vesicles from brain tissue and CSF (biochemistry, TRPS, electron microscopy)
- Quantitative analysis of subpopulations of extracellular vesicles carrying toxic proteins (electron microscopy, SMLM, biochemistry)
- RT-QUiC assays for the amplification of pathological aggregates (biochemistry)
- Setting up cellular models for the functional characterization of extracellular vesicles carrying toxic proteins (cell biology, electron and superresolution microscopy)
- Presentations of the results, writing articles
- Possible supervision of trainees.
Compétences
We are looking for a highly motivated, autonomous and rigorous candidate with a PhD in cell biology or neuroscience, excellent organisational skills and an aptitude for teamwork.
Contexte de travail
The post is to be filled within the “Proteinopathies of the Nervous System” team. The team is currently in transition from the Laboratoire des Maladies Neurodégénératives (LMN UMR9199, CNRS, CEA, UPSaclay, Fontenay-aux-Roses) to the Neuro-Bicêtre institute (currently DHNS U1195, INSERM, UPSaclay, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre), a future research center on proteinopathies and myelinopathies of the nervous system, bringing together academic researchers and clinicians. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art equipment for the project (TRPS, electron microscopes, nanoscope for super-resolutive microscopy).
Contraintes et risques
- experiments using human tissues and biological fluids (CSF) (BSL2 level)
- experiments on “prion-like” proteins (BSL2 level)
