Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for carrying out a research project within the unit, in close integration with the team's activities. He/She will contribute to the production of original scientific results within the framework of the defined project, including the dissemination of results through publications in international journals and presentations at conferences.
The position is part of the “Postdoc Passerelle” call for projects. In this context, the researcher will interact regularly with EDF and will be expected to travel to discuss with the PRISME department. The research work is expected to lead to contributions to the open-source software OpenTURNS (https://openturns.github.io/www/).
Activity
- Conduct theoretical and/or numerical research in the field of the project
- Develop and analyze mathematical models adapted to the studied problems
- Design and implement numerical and/or algorithmic methods when necessary
- Perform simulations, analysis, and validation of theoretical results
- Write scientific articles for publication in international peer-reviewed journals
- Present results in seminars, working groups, and conferences
- Participate in scientific exchanges within the team and with academic partners
- Carry out scientific literature monitoring in the relevant field

- Ability to work independently in a research environment

Your Work Environment
CERMICS is the research center in applied mathematics of Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées. It is a joint research unit with CNRS (UMR 9032). It hosts joint project-teams with Inria Paris and University Gustave Eiffel, and is part of the Bézout CNRS Federation and the doctoral school EDMH. The acronym CERMICS stands for “Centre d'Enseignement et de Recherche en MathématIques et Calcul Scientifique”, literally “Center for Training and Research in MathematIcs and Scientific Computing”.
