Activités

• Purification of recombinant proteins through heterologous expression in E. coli
• Biochemical characterization of purified proteins: quantification, western blot, determination of kinetic constants
• Crystallization of proteins of interest
• Determination of the three-dimensional structures of proteins of interest by X-ray crystallography and/or cryo-electron microscopy

Compétences

• Implement biological and biochemical techniques
• Follow and adapt experimental protocols as needed
• Proficiency in using an FPLC chromatography system (e.g., AKTA Go)
• MExpertise in microbiological techniques
• Good knowledge of the softwares used in structural biology: XDS, Phenix, CryoSparc, PyMOL, ChimeraX
• Ability to write protocols, report results and scientific publications
• Ability to work in a team
• Proficiency in scientific and technical English

The proposed project. will be carried out within the team "Autophagy and Associated Mechanisms in Infections," at the Institute of Infectious Disease Research of Montpellier (IRIM) https://www.irim.cnrs.fr/en/ami-2/

Contraintes et risques

Work in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory and possibly outside regular working hours, especially for collecting crystallographic data at a synchrotron facility.
