Missions

Conduct a research project aimed at understanding the role of nuclear pores in chromatin organisation.

Activités

Developing a scientific question
Selecting, adapting, developing and implementing experimental approaches aimed at answering a scientific question, in agreement with the group leader.
Exploiting and presenting scientific results at team meetings, conferences and through the writing and publication of scientific articles
Supervising interns, engineers or students
Monitoring scientific developments related to the project

Compétences

The candidate must hold a PhD in cellular or molecular biology at the time of taking up the position.
In-depth knowledge of biology, particularly in the areas of chromatin organisation and the role of nuclear pores, is expected.
Proficiency in optical microscopy (confocal and super-resolution) and image analysis. Proficiency in common molecular biology techniques.
Proficiency in English (level B1)
Ability to work in a team, respecting individual differences

Contexte de travail

The Institute of Human Genetics (IGH) is a joint research unit (CNRS-University of Montpellier). The unit has a staff of 220 and is divided into three departments. The researcher will work within the nuclear architecture in physiology and pathology team under the supervision of Dr C. Boumendil (CRCN, CNRS). The IGH is located on the Arnaud de Villeneuve campus, which is part of the Pro-Vélo Employer Programme.
