Missions

The post-doc will use observations from the 2019 campaign of Strateole 2 to test and improve simple models and parameterizations of aerosols and cirrus clouds of the equatorial belt in the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere.

Activities

Model development; data analysis; modelling.

Skills

Knowledge of any of the following will be appreciated:
- atmospheric dynamics,
- clouds, aerosols and microphysics,
- programming with python.

Work Context

The post-doc will be hosted at the Laboratoire de Meteorologie Dynamique in Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, but will also work in close collaboration with team members of the Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie de l'Environnement et de l'Espace in Orleans (a bit more than one hour from Paris by train). The post-doc will have the challenging and stimulating mission to bridge the epertises between the different members of the team, and transfer knowledge and understanding from the novel observations of Strateole 2 to the modelling community.
