Missions
* **Advanced modeling of frequency comb dynamics:**
Develop and analyze reduced-order models (based on the Lugiato-Lefever equation or its modal variants) to describe the formation and evolution of frequency combs in nonlinear optical cavities.
* **Identification of complex regimes and extreme events:**
Explore the parameter space to detect transitions toward chaotic or multistable regimes, and characterize the conditions leading to rare events (such as optical rogue waves, abrupt regime shifts, etc.).
* **Development of machine learning strategies:**
Design hybrid tools combining artificial intelligence and physics (e.g., Physics-Informed Neural Networks – PINNs) for the early prediction of extreme events and for understanding their underlying generation mechanisms.
Activités

Compétences
Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics (Photonics and/or Nonlinear Optics, Nonlinear Dynamics), with strong skills in numerical modeling (Python, MATLAB, or equivalent) and data analysis.
Experience in machine learning (deep learning, neural networks) will be a significant asset.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, the ability to work independently, and a willingness to engage in collaborative research environments.
Contexte de travail
The postdoctoral researcher will join the Photonics group of the PhLAM laboratory, renowned for its expertise in nonlinear fiber optics and frequency comb generation.
The project is part of a dynamic network of active international collaborations (Chile, Côte d'Ivoire, Belgium), offering a stimulating environment conducive to scientific development and visibility.
