Missions
The objective of this project is to study the physics of current-induced torques in antiferromagnetic materials that could lead to the development of low-power magnetic storage devices with attractive dynamic capabilities. The aim here is to develop an optical scanning microscope exploiting linear dichroism to image antiferromagnetic domains and their dynamics under current.
Activities
Development of an experimental set-up (choice, user interfaces) and validation with model AF materials implemented in spintronic devices.
Skills
The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. in physics for less than 2 years.
The position is suitable for an experimentalist.
- Very good knowledge in optics and magneto-optics
- Very strong skills and interest in instrumentation
- Knowledge in Python programming and/or Labview are assets
- Knowledge of materials for spin electronics and nanofabrication would be a plus.
Work Context
The postdoctoral researcher will work at LPS (UMR8502) in the IDMAG team: Imaging and Dynamics in Megnetism.
The Laboratory is located on the Paris Saclay campus at Paris-Sud University, approximately 20 km south of Paris.
Constraints and risks
Risks related to lasers, vacuum techniques and chemicals (very low).
