Job Description

Missions

The position is based within a research team, where the agent will work under the supervision of a CNRS researcher and interact with researchers and students at different levels, including BTS, Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students. The agent will contribute to the development of the team's research theme by independently managing a scientific project. The main activities will involve carrying out experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology.

Activity

The agent will conduct experimental biology activities, including cell biology experiments, biochemical assays, and biochemical and molecular biology techniques. They will analyze experimental data, maintain a laboratory notebook, and record, format and present experimental results. The agent will also contribute to the writing of research articles, keep up to date with advances and developments in the field, and apply the regulations related to experimental activities. They will participate in lab meetings and present their experimental results to the research team and supervisor.

Your Profil

Skills

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the regulatory pathways controlling meiotic maturation in *Xenopus* oocytes. The agent should have experience in protein analysis by electrophoresis, immunodetection techniques such as immunoprecipitation and western blotting, and quantification of enzymatic activities, including kinase and phosphatase assays. The agent should also have experience with protein purification using chromatographic and affinity-based techniques, mass spectrometry workflows including sample preparation and analysis of results, and molecular biology techniques. Experience with the handling of oocytes, including sorting and injection of RNA and/or proteins, is also required. The agent should be able to read, understand and apply data from the scientific literature.

Your Work Environment

The agent will be assigned to the “Development, Adaptation and Aging” unit (Dev2A, UMR 8263, Sorbonne Université–CNRS), directed by Dominique Weil. Dev2A is a research unit in biology comprising 19 teams and more than 150 staff members. It is one of the four constituent units of the Institut de Biologie Paris Seine (IBPS, FR3631), directed by Martin Giurfa. The unit is affiliated with UFR927 and the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Sorbonne Université. Within Dev2A, the agent will join the “Oocyte Meiosis Group”, under the supervision of E. M. Daldello. This team, composed of 10 members including Sorbonne Université faculty members, CNRS researchers, BIATSS staff and PhD students, investigates the mechanisms controlling meiotic divisions in oocytes.
