Missions
We are looking for a highly motivated post-doc to finalize a research project on the molecular mechanisms of gene control in bacteria.
Activités
The person to be recruited will study the transcriptional control of gene expression in the Escherichia coli model bacterium. More specifically, he/she will study the role of small proteins and small RNAs in controlling the activity of two-component systems, focusing on one of these systems involved in the response to acid stress.
Compétences
The candidate must hold a PhD in molecular biology or microbiology. A solid expertise in bacteriology, molecular biology, and RNA biochemistry is essential. Good communication in English is necessary.
Contexte de travail
The person to be recruited will work under the direction of Maude Guillier and will join the 'RNA control of gene expression' group within the CNRS unit UMR8261. He/she will interact with all members of the group (4 permanent, 3 non-permanent persons, and one emeritus at the moment). This team is part of the CNRS unit 'Microbial Gene Expression' of the 'Institut de Biologie Physico-Chimique', located in the center of Paris.
Contraintes et risques
The person may have to use radioactivity in some experiments
