Job Description

Missions

The candidate will work on developing modeling and simulation tools for the performance of a quantum accelerometer, based on atomic interferometry techniques, as part of the CARIOQA space mission, which aims to demonstrate the in-orbit operation of this type of sensor. As part of Phase B of this ambitious project, the candidate will collaborate with academic partners to evaluate the performance of the instrument and the mission, and will work with industrial partners to analyze trade-offs in the design of the instrument and the mission.

Activity

- Development of the instrument simulator
- Modeling of the atomic accelerometer
- Analysis of measurement biases and noise sources
- Analysis of the instrument's performance under space environment conditions

Your Profil

Skills

Strong skills in coding and numerical simulation are required. Proficiency in MATLAB or Python is preferred. Additional skills in optics and basic quantum physics are preferred.
The candidate must be self-motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.

Your Work Environment

The postdoctoral researcher will join the “Atomic Interferometry and Inertial Sensors” team at LTE, a leading laboratory in the development of highly sensitive inertial sensors based on atomic interferometry, such as gravimeters and gyroscopes, using trapped or free-falling cold atoms. As part of a team of 30 people, he or she will interact with researchers, engineers, and doctoral students, as well as with industrial and academic partners involved in the CARIOQA collaboration.
The position falls under the Scientific and Technical Potential Protection (PPST) sector and therefore, in accordance with regulations, requires authorization from the competent authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).
