Job Description
Missions
Collect behavioural and language data from typically developing children and from children with developmental language disorders (developmental dyslexia, DLD), as part of an ERC-funded research project conducted in collaboration with the University of Cambridge.
Activity
Recruit participants through preschools and primary schools, and via the network of partner speech and language therapists.
Plan and conduct testing sessions (two ~20-minute sessions per child: multisyllabic word repetition task, syllabic stress perception task, standardised battery of language and cognitive assessments).
Obtain informed consent from parents or legal guardians.
Enter, anonymise, and verify behavioural data in the project database.
Transfer anonymised audio files to the Cambridge team in accordance with the established security protocol.
Attend follow-up meetings with the French PI and the Cambridge team.
Your Profil
Skills
Master's degree (M2) in psychology, language sciences, cognitive science, or speech and language therapy.
Experience administering standardised assessments.
Working knowledge of data entry and management tools (spreadsheets, databases), with awareness of anonymisation and GDPR requirements.
Attention to detail, ability to work independently, strong organisational skills, and comfort interacting with children, families, and institutional partners.
Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English (regular coordination with the Cambridge team).
Your Work Environment
Study Engineer position based at the Institut de l'Audition, under the supervision of S. Bouton. The role is shared between laboratory activities (preparation, data entry, coordination) and fieldwork (schools, speech and language therapy practices), with close collaboration with the University of Cambridge team as part of an ERC-funded project on language acquisition and developmental disorders.
Constraints and risks
Frequent travel within Île-de-France (schools, speech and language therapy practices).
Data collection pace is set by school calendars, holidays, and family availability.
Personal data from minors will be processed: GDPR training and strict anonymisation procedures are mandatory.
Strong methodological rigour required for standardised testing and consent tracking.
